Can a girl catch a break?
Ok so after my last post I was thinking everything was cool.....
.....then yesterday morning we went out to my car to find all of the oil from my engine in a giant puddle on the pavement. Ehhhhh not good.
Turns out when the car had overheated it did something to the seals on the oil cooler, and then when it got cold, they cracked and pissed oil everywhere.
So once again, my boyfriend saved the day. He took another day off work and sat outside in the freezing (15 degree!) cold for all day just to get my car running. Even after he went to 5 different places to get the part. Even after the guys at the honda place said that "breaking up with the girl" would be easier and a lot less of a headache than replacing this part. Cuz he loves me and I am so freakin lucky to have him...seriously. The past couple of days would have cost me close to $800 if I had taken it to a shop. Instead it cost me about $50 in parts, and for labor just the price of two chicken caesar salads and a little bit of lovin to warm him up a bit.
In addition Jess was a lifesaver again yesterday and drove me to patient first so I could get my throat in check. The doctor said that I had a "cousin of strep", whatever that means. He said that the past few weeks they have seen a lot of people with the symptoms of strep--severe sore throat, red with white spots on the back, fever, swollen glands--all of which I had, but, the strep test comes back negative. It's still some sort of bacterial infection so he gave me some antibiotics and told me I should be feeling better in a few days. And since my dad is military so my insurance is amazing....the whole visit including the medicine cost me $3. Yes. Three. That freakin rocks.
So today I woke up, my car made it to school ok, I was on time to class, my coffee was hot and fresh and I can feel the medicine working. It looks like the rest of this week will be ok. Brian joked with me that I was running a credit with karma....maybe I can cash in all this bad stuff for a winning lottery ticket? Wouldn't that be nice!!
